Dr. Robert Steenbergen, DC

Dr. Robert Steenbergen; DC, is a chiropractor serving the Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and surrounding communities. He received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from the University of Western States in 2014 after earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Biology.

Dr. Steenbergen first discovered the benefits of Chiropractic and other alternative medicine fields at a young age after a car accident. He continued to utilize chiropractic care as a young athlete to improve his performance as a wrestler and football player.

Dr. Steenbergen uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better. He takes a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Dr. Steenbergen is able to help you accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.

Dr. Steenbergen is also a certified in the Functional Movement Screen. The FMS movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic loco motor, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing an individual in positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilized. If these basic principles are not present it may present as imbalances in the movement patterns but may also identify muscular asymmetries, movement asymmetries, spinal imbalances or major limitations in functional movement patterns.

Movement quality is an essential component to reducing the risk of injury and reaching optimal levels of performance whether that is in your everyday life, hobbies or as an athlete. He uses this information to help root out the source of these imbalances to create a personal corrective chiropractic and wellness plan to correct these problems.

On a personal note, Dr. Steenbergen loves the outdoors which is perfect for the Coeur D'Alene area. You may see him out on the mountains snowboarding, on the lakes or in the woods fishing and hunting or doing other activities outdoors. He also enjoys biking, working out, playing sports and almost all forms of exercise.
